The system works within the standard Windows scheduling environment and accepts all data sources including Microsoft Excel, Access databases and TravCom applications.

You can email messages, export file names and folders and other options can incorporate dynamic content from fields/formulas in your report via a drag and drop user interface as well as via a Command Line API.

Once an item is added to Visual CUT such as a report or SMTP server configuration, editing its properties can be done simply by editing the values in the property grid. No need for cumbersome dialog windows or lengthy wizards.

Product Features

The main features of Visual CUT include:

  • E-mail a dynamic-content message for the report as a whole or for each Group Level-1 via the widely supported SMTP standard. A variety of options are supported including queued, archived, secured, encrypted, and signed messages. Message bodies and options can incorporate dynamic content from fields/formulas in the report and can be formatted as HTML.
  • Export the report as a whole or Burst each Group Level-1 to a variety of file formats, save the results to dynamically named disk files/folders and include them as attachments to email messages.
  • Schedule exporting, bursting, emailing, and printing of reports based on parameters and options you specify (and save) during an interactive session.

Scheduling ability:

Single/Package Report Schedules
Giving you the ability to schedule a single report or multiple reports at specific intervals, in a specified format, delivered to single/multiple locations.

Bursting Schedules
Burst scheduled reports to various group levels; you have the ability to deliver to deliver to numerous locations in a variety of file formats.

Data-Driven Schedules
Giving you the ability to control all variables regarding your reporting requirements. Filter the report output via parameter values retrieved at run-time. Distribute a report to a list of fluctuating recipients.

Automation Schedules
Write and execute simple or complex business process automation scripts using Visual Basic or Crystal Reports syntax. Use this schedule on its own, or as part of a more complete automation solution. Examples include Send an email, Upload to FTP, Print files and lots more.

Output Formats

  • Control and Invoke processing of Crystal reports using command line arguments. A full command line interface allows calls from batch files, schedulers (including the free Windows Task Scheduler), desktop shortcuts, or any other program.
  • Special Capabilities include:
    1. HTML exports (including charts & logos) can be embedded in email message bodies.
    2. PDF exports can include Color-Coded Bookmarks & Table of Contents for easy online & hardcopy navigation.
    3. PDF exports can be password protected (128-bit or 256-bit AES encryption) and/or restricted (for example, prevent editing).
    4. PDF files can be Merged (and bookmarks added) to create mixed page layouts, combine & staple output.
    5. PDF files can be merged to create multiple Layers inside a single pdf file. Within Acrobat reader, users can then turn the visibility of each layer on or off. This is particularly useful for map layers. You can control the naming and initial visibility of each layer.
    6. Add web, email, or file links (hotspots) with optional text to PDF files.
    7. Export to multiple file formats in a single pass.
